I come from Poland.
I like to do openwork Easter eggs in my free time. I am fascinated with the oval form, the fragility of the material and the symbolism of the egg. I drew my first inspirations from old patterns of openwork lace and embroidery. At first, I was interested in Venetian embroidery (richelieu), fillet , cross-stitch, and English embroidery. I like to transfer intricate patterns to an eggshell, no matter if it is a quail, chicken or goose. Later, I started carving on ostrich egg shells, where the thickness of the shell itself gave the possibility of relief and a three-dimensional effect. I love all Easter eggs, both traditional and all variations.
